E-CHALLAN STATUS

E-Challan is an computer generated challan .the used Electronic Challan System. They are sent to the violator via SMS or email, linked to the vehicle’s registration number .The traffic police department is having the right to issue a challan to any driver who does not follow the traffic rule’s while driving.

1-E-Challans:

Electronic Challans are generated through computer systems like CCTV cameras and speed guns. They are sent to the violator via SMS or email, to the vehicle’s registration number.

2-Spot Challans:

It is issued by directly traffic police officers during traffic stops or at the scene of a violation.

3-Document-Related Challans:

These are issued for not carrying or possessing necessary documents like a valid driving license, vehicle registration certificate, insurance papers, and pollution under control (PUC) certificate etc.

5-Parking Violation Challans:

Vehicle at parking in no-parking zones or in a manner that disrupts traffic rules.

The procedure to https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan  is follow these steps :

  • Step 1: Visit https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/.
  • Step 2: Click on ‘Check Challan Status’. The option can be found on the ‘Check Online Services’ tab.
  • Step 3: The next page, enter the challan number, vehicle number, or DL number.
  • Step 4: Next, enter the captcha.
  • Step 5: Click on ‘Get Detail’ to check the status of the challan.

Riding without helmet   Rs.1,000 plus licence suspended for three months

Riding without permit    Up to Rs.10,000 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment

Juvenile driving Rs.25,000 with three years of imprisonment, cancellation of registration of vehicle for 1 year, and ineligibility to avail a driving licence until 25 years of ag
